Tom Delaney hails from Connecticut, and has worked in restaurants since he was seventeen years old. He graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1984, and then headed south to marry an island girl. In the next few years he honed skills at several well known restaurants, such as Greyfield Inn, Riverwatch, and Emmeline and Hessie.

In the spring of 1994 Chef Tom opened Delaney's Bistro, appealing to locals and visitors alike. His signature dishes include Grilled Magret Duck Breast with a Thai Peanut Sauce, Charred Fresh Foie Gras Verjus, and a variety of fresh seafood and game dishes. Located on North Frederica Road, Delaney's is one of the best kept secrets on St. Simons Island, with its intimate fine dining atmosphere.
